Whilst black and white images are shown in other galleries, in this one I try to show examples of where I have found this to be particularly good at showing textures, like the medieval table picture showing wood, cloth, stonework and cane.  This was taken at Glastonbury Abbey.

The image below was taken at Samphire Hoe just outside Dover.  The wind was howling in from the sea, as you can see from the angle of the grasses.

The two seaside pictures below were taken in Cornwall.  I went with the idea of taking photographs of St Michael's Mount.  However, with the sun rapidly setting, the silhouettes of dog walkers and a lone surfer proved a better option.  The pebble beach picture was taken in Cumbria.

The picture below was taken in Ledbury, a small market town in Herefordshire.

This abstract image of sunlight piercing trees in a forest was taken near Buttermere in Cumbria.

Sunlight can pass through leaf structures too.......

Black and white can really show the texture of this old barrow and boots.
